Why Lukasha?
"Lu" in Latin means "light."
"Akasha" in Vedic philosophy and spirituality refers to the concept of an all-pervading, primordial, and subtle space or ether that is believed to be the source of everything in the universe.
It's often described as the fifth element & is associated with the idea of cosmic energy and the storage of all knowledge and experiences.
"lu + akasha" combines these languages & it may be interpreted
as "light of the cosmic ether"
I guess I have always been an artist. Since I was a child, I have had a self-discovered artistic drive that has become more and more lucid as I learn to harness this creative energy and as I grow as an individual and a mother.
Intentionally stepping onto my creative path in 2008; the desire to draw carried me through a journey of self-discovery on extensive solo travels. I was drawing privately on a small scale in journals along the way as a reprieve from my nomadic lifestyle and also a way to document it. Awakening with the aid of Music, Sacred Geometry, Eastern Mysticsim and Yoga, these travel journals evolved.
To anchor and improve my technical skills I became a student of Graphic Design in Melbourne and simultaneously began a series of collaborations in the realms of painting, including murals, live painting performance and event hosting with Donker Collective, landing me in The Netherlands. I became part of a Dutch family with a lineage of artistry, tradition and craftsmanship and I am forever grateful for their invaluable guidance.
I'm currently based near Lake Hawea in the mountainous highlands of Central Otago, New Zealand and have began a new era of collaboration and partnership with a visionary technical wizard.
